Landowner meetings

In November of 2006 our first informational meeting was held and well attended. Folks were curious and many signed a non-binding show of interest; they in turn were first to be considered in a lease. SummitWind could not get everyone notified by mail in our interest area, as we were just beginning to set out the footprint, which was later adjusted and then expanded.

The first signup time for a lease was August 1, 2007. In addition to Jim Newcomb and Bill Cheng, our electrical engineer, Mark Galey, wind engineer, Rick Damiani, SD attorney, Gordon Neilsen and CPA, Kirby Hins were present and answered questions. Tim Seck, the Midwest Director for PPM Energy was our presenter. We were looking for 25,000 acres and received over half the acreage at that meeting. Again this is encouraging!

Another meeting followed in the winter of 2007. Our Colorado attorney, Doug Dumler, and Tim Gapp, Chairman of Summit Area Economic Development, presented, as well as Jim Newcomb, managing member of SummitWind. On a side note: by this time Invenergy, LLC was establishing a presence in developing a wind farm north of Highway 12 and Summit.
